I made BobC's chicken gravy for the first time a couple weeks ago. I
borrowed an old fashioned hand cranked meat grinder from a friend. I cut
the whole chicken into normal serving size pieces and put them through the
grinder. Even a whole chicken leg only needed a little extra force to
grind it up. After cooking and adding the other ingredients, I put the
whole thing in the blender in batches and whipped it up to further
pulverize the bones. The blender handled it just fine. There are just a
few bone shards left that the ferrets leave at the bottom of the bowl.

I mixed some at first with my regular duck soup to get the kids used to the
new taste/texture. Now they all love it straight. Belle, my almost 7 year
old insulinomic/adrenal girl has gained weight and energy.

After that success, I bought an old meat grinder from ebay for $7 plus
shipping. They have lots of similar grinders up for auction. Just search
on "meat grinder".
