Reet asked: >I have harnesses and leashes for my ferts, and try to take them for walks. >Eeeek. What am I doing wrong, or do I just have wussy ferts? I think you've got the answer to your own question there...........they're scared of leaving their domain ! Mine are well used to going walkies with the dogs as well as out rabbiting, but Woody refuses point blank to walk on tarmac and hates cars. Buzz doesn't give a whatsit, he just wants to keep up with the dogs. Now I normally put Woody up on my shoulder and he sits there till we reach more grass. When we first got them, I used to put them in a carrying sack till we got to a more ferret friendly bit. I bet if you put yours into a pet carrier and took them to the park or out in the country in a field, you'd find they behave completely differently. Don't forget, they don't know what cars are, as far as they're concerned, they're just big noisy smelly things that want to eat them. Even the one that takes no notice of the cars must be a bit worried about going too far away from safety. Try it and see what happens.
