Actually not. Ferrets cost exactly as much as the sellers think they can sell them for. $200 to $500 is very high for ferrets - in the DC area they are anywhere from $90 to under $200. There are some ranches in the US that will sell ferrets for as little as $25. Many pet stores will try to price them low enough that folks will buy onimpulse.
