What did your vet have to say about Abner when you took Abner in for a
checkup after noticing these symptoms?  If you haven't already taken Abner
to the vet for a checkup, then do that immediately.  Please do not wait
around for a variety of responses and experiences from other FML
readers/posters, and please -- unless you are very experienced with ferrets
and their possible illnesses -- do not try to self diagnose what *might* be
wrong with your ferret.  That is a job for a vet.
 
Teeth gnashing or mashing is usually a symptom that a ferret is in pain.
Please see a vet immediately.  Any time your ferrets exhibit unusual (for
them) behavior, it is time for a trip to the vet.
