Slinky, beloved baby boy of Dee Everett in Morton, IL has gone to the Bridge. He has left an enormous void in his momma's heart. And his daddy isn't doing so well either. Slinky was a Valentines Day gift in 1992 and he left almost exactly seven years later. He taught us that ferrets were special creatures - gifts from God. He survived losing his best girlfriend Dinky (nearly died mourning her) and his friends Weasel, J.R. Ferret, Garrett and Striper who lived with his dad John in Pekin. He had 2 adrenal operations. He was our first "child". Lucky, his cagemate, searched for him this evening. She has moved in with Jack and Jill and she knows all is not well. After I returned home this evening, Bill, Hillary, Leroy, Baby Girl, Hershey and Buddy have gotten extra hugs. They also know there is a pain in dad's heart. They've been extraordinarily quiet this evening. They are smart creatures. Please give each of your furrfaces an extra long hug and kiss tonight in memory of the nearly bald white boy who can be seen kissing Santa Claus in Modern Ferret # 19 Pink Noses. His Lucky, Jack and Jill are also in that picture. Also please pray that his momma's heart will be mended. It is broken very badly this evening. I truly hope each of you is blessed with as good a ferret as Slinky was. Love them. They are here for such a short time. Thanks to Dr. Chuck Burmeister who saved his life at least 3 times and eased Slink over this evening. He is a good human. God Bless you Slinky. Wait for us. John Gordon in Pekin, IL (Please forgive this rambling. I'm using SuperGlue on my heart tonight. ) [Posted in FML issue 2582]
