Hi , I thought i'd give you an update on my Dumpy, i wrote earlier with his symptoms like not eating, weak hind legs, enlarged spleen, possibly Lymphoma.... His sheltermom came through for us, and paid for most of his surgery to remove the spleen, Vet also took a tiny piece of his liver to be sent to a lab for a closer look, he did very well during surgery and his sheltermom was right there with him assisting. Everything looked fine, he doesn't seem to have lymphoma, but i will send out the spleen and piece of liver just to be sure, he stayed over night at his vet's house, and had a seizure next day that the vet wasn't able to bring him out of, but he came out on his own, he came home early afternoon and hasn't had another one since, his vet thought that it could have been an epileptic seizure? He was up and walking around, (better than before surgery?) day after surgery, but he is mostly tired and wants to sleep, poor little guy has been through a lot...:( He eats a little Duck soup on his own, but still refuses any solid kibble, maybee he needs a little more time....or maybee he is just to spoiled..... I am sewing hammocs for dear life, so his shelter mom can sell them and put some money into her account, they are actually very nice although i'm no expert at the sewing machine, but i have made them out of jeans or other durable cotton material and covered the whole top with fake fur, the ferrets LOVE them, and my guess is that they last a lifetime! a lot of people are ordering them, and i thought i sell them through the shelter, so a good part of the proceeds go to the shelter, If any shelter out there would like to have nice hand made hammocs to make some money off, send me an e-mail, this is a brand new idea so any comments inputs and suggestions are valuable, i have also not decided about the price, What would you think? if i start doing this i will have to have something for my time and expenses, but a large portion i am willing to donate to shelters, just as an idea, if i were to charge $25 per hammoc, then $10 could go to a shelter of choice, any ideas and comments are appreciated! Also i was reading about the difficulties in feeding newborn kits, would a ballon work if a thread is tied on to mold a nipple? or a rubber ring like the ones in their water botles? maybee it is a long shot.....? The rest of the gang are all doing great, Lucky is shedding a lot and most of her darker longer hairs are gone, leaving only her soft undercoat, is this normal? Well, that's about it, My fuzzy gang and i(yes me too) send Happy dooks to all sick, ferrets and their mommies and daddies, so that they will get better soon, signing off is Josephine and the sweetiest meanie beanie in the world Liza, The most adorable speed bump in the world Truls, Lucky Ducky Hansen princess, and my very special Humpter Dumpter Man.
