Sadly, one of our babies, Scully, was diagnosed with Insulinoma today. We
are now trying to decide between surgery and medication.

Little is known about his background, Scully was brought into a shelter in
July 1998, after being found on the street. He had little use of his hind
quarters, and has a long scar that runs across his belly. He stopped
eating at the time, and had to fight to stay alive. His estimated age is
3-4 years.

He has been with us since November, and is a happy little boy, although he
gets tired quickly. He currently eats mostly Mazuri Ferret Food, with some
TF mixed in.

His fasting blood glucose was 67 today. The vet could not get allot of
blood (what she did get came from the tail vein), so only this one test
was preformed.

I would appreciate any and all information from ferret owners who have
dealt with this, and would like to know what at home treatments are being
used in conjunction with veterinary care. Also, what treats are being
given to Insulinoma ferrets, and a Duck Soup recipe without Sustical,
Ensure, etc. as a supplement.

Thank you very much in advance, love to all the fuzzies,

Tracey (Boston, MA) and the guys Bailey, Riley, Murphy, and Scully
