Greetings, ferrets and slaves! Well, Heart of Ohio Ferret Association (HOFA), has a table at the Columbus Pet Expo this weekend. What a great time, and a great success! From our shelter, we had 13 ferrets ready for good homes, and by 5 pm today, none were left! We got so many inquiries and people interested, and we sent alot away with information, so they can check back later for new rescues. We had a crowd in front of our table almost the whole day, and since some members had brought their own kids, plenty of ferrets for people to see, pet and hold. It's amazing, if you take them out walking around to the other tables to see stuff, people just stopped you everywhere, with so many positive responses! We gave out lots of information about ferret care, health, ferret-knowledgable vets in the area, about our club, and about the show we have coming up in August. Lots of fuzzy owners out there, interested in hearing more about our club and shelter association, and since I was voted to be secretary of membership at last Sunday's meeting (I was unable to attend, as I was sick... kinda funny how that works, isn't it?? lol) this will give me lots to do. Actually, I'm very excited about being an officer in our group, because I think we've got a great thing. I can stress to people enough how wonderful it is to get involved with one, because the resources and support you gain, and the fellowship of other people just as crazy about our wuzzles is always a treat. I'm excited about going back tomorrow! So, if you live anywhere near the Columbus area, the expo runs from 10-6 pm on Sunday, come on out! We have tables next to Warm Fuzzy Ferret Rescue from Pa. and Ferret Warez, so there are lots of ferret specific products available, as well. And Clarence and Shirley Hertzog are great people. >From: Dayle & Becky Wilson <[log in to unmask]> >Subject: foot in mouth Becky, don't worry about anyone holding it against you, like BIG said, it opened our eyes to how someone who didn't know the whole story would see it, we all knew it was coming, and how bad it was set up to look. From the perspective of a good ferret mom, without knowing all the story behind it, it would scare the heck out of me that someone might keep my babies from me. It just goes to prove that so much of what goes into these shows is simply sensationalism, not any real desire to show real stories, or what's really going on. We all simply wanted to stand up for Jean, who has sacrificed alot in her life for the sake of our furry friends. >From: Percy Pwood Georgia Wood <[log in to unmask]> >Subject: Buy Wood Stove Pellets TODAY! Hahahahaha, but I just bought 3 bags last week! Actually, I have no clue how long that will last with 5 ferrets, as this is the first time we've used them, but I figure I have a few weeks at least to make sure we like them, and then I'll buy some more. Okay, Okay, I am getting into the long post danger again (actually, I live there) but I just love to share things with all of you, and I like it when others do the same. I'm an FML addict, and I admit it! Sherry and The Merry Mob P.S. Pepper and Sugar, our two 'fosters' who were supposed to be available for the Expo this weekend are now officially part of the family!!!! [Posted in FML issue 2593]
