Can anyone give me info on this disease? I know that the course in adults is variable, but I would like to hear some actual cases. My 5 year old female was diagnosed with it a couple of weeks ago although we suspected it earlier than that. She also has adrenal, insulinoma, and hepatocellular carcinoma. I know that I shouldn;t expect much as her poor little body is just ridden with cancer. Surgery is not an option as she has already had two in the past year for the adrenal and liver. She is now being treated with .4cc Cisterelen for the hyperestrogenism signs(swollen vulva, discharge) twice a week (injections subq), .5cc pediapred twice a day, and now 20mg Metronidazole once a day for the anaerobic bacteria in her gut causing diarrhea. I am also feeding her 4 times a day with a duck soup of a/d, chicken baby food, Deliver, Timmy's Tonic and Enzyme CoQ10. She is drinking plenty of water but is not eating dry food on her own. She seems to feel ok, she will come out to play but takes lots of breaks and has no hyper periods. What should I expect? I palpate her abdomen every other day as the lympho has affected her spleen mostly and it feels different every time I feel it. What can I expect to see towards the end and how should I make the decision to let her go? I know this is a hard subject for everyone to address, but I really need help making this kind of decision. Also, what should I expect from my other ferret who has been with her for his whole life of four years? Please respond private as I almost never get to read the whole fml. Sorry for the long post! I hope everyone's fuzzies are doing well. Prayers for those that are not. Maybe someday we'll be able to get rid of these terrible diseases. Thanks in advance. Rachel [Posted in FML issue 2589]
