Diana Hi - I had one shelter kid come in with a bump on his lip, about the size of a small pea, under his whiskers - I had it removed and the vet sent it out for testing - the good news was that it was totally benign - and diagnosed as a peripheral nerve sheath tumor. Both the vet and pathologist were suprised at the unusual location - apparently these are common around the eyes, not mouth. Anyway - if the vet says so, I'd leave it alone - Rascal's seemed to be getting larger and the color changed, thats why I had it removed. Poor little guy, now hes a got an inverted "v" missing from his lip and he looks like he is perpetually smirking. :) As far as other defects, I doubt it - but keep up those regular vet visits - they should catch anything that might be wrong. Good luck with the fuzzy! Lisa, Head Ferret The Ferret Haven "By-the-Sea" URL: http://www.kozykingdom.com/ferrethaven Want to help The Ferret Haven By-the-Sea?
