I just took home my big albino boy tonight! Hi, Meghan, Congratulations on your new addition! You are going to have fun with a pair. I decided to post this to the list (rather than privately) because it lets me share my experience, which I'm sure lots of you have heard before. It's really for the new owners. When we got Adric (my first fert, the second in our house), Tenchi's disposition improved tremendously. We were giving him the three or so hours of run time we could during the week, and more on the weekend, but he just *hated* being alone in the cage. He used to grab the bars with his teeth and forepaws and shake it as hard as he could. Once he had a playmate he was much, much happier. Ferrets are best in groups. Ours now go into the cage to sleep or eat or whatever without any fear of being shut in, and they play in there. Sure, they are eager to come out when we open the door, but with a really large cage and in a group they seem to be much better adjusted. Just my two centimes worth... -Caity Martin and the Seven Ferts ________________________________________________ Caitlyn M.
