Hi everyone, I know I should post more often, but I seldom know what to say. I do learn a lot from this list, and always try to read everything. With all the talk of winter coats, I thought I'd add my guys. I have 10, some rescues, and others from pet stores, with all but 4 are MF. The MF are varied in their winter coats as are the others. The 3 nicest, heaviest, softest coats are MF ferrets. The rest are somewhere in between, with a couple not even getting a winter coat at all. Now all have put on some winter weight. I have no idea why so much difference, but it is there. All are kept in the same area. Now for my question. I have one that has been putting on weight since I first got him. He was supposed to be over a year old, but has gained close to 2 lbs since last May. The more weight he gains, the smaller his poops get. He's been through a heavy dose of Petromalt. He got at least an inch at a time, every 1 1/2 hours over several hours. The only thing it did was put him off his food for the last couple of hours, and gave him the runs. The vet checked for parasites. He also said that since it gave him the runs, it is most likely not any kind of blockage. I don't know if he knows what he is talking about or not. He will make calls when he's not sure of the problem, reads and keeps what info I print off the faqs etc. We're in a small town area, so finding a knowledgeable vet near by is not an option. I feed TF, Iams Kitten, and Eukanuba with Chicken and Rice Kitten. I realize that I probably need to get him more exercise, and have good ideas about making him loose some weight. I also think some of it is winter weight. What I need to know is some ideas on why the small, skinny poops. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Millie and her more than enough crew.
