Hello all, Well, its been a while since I posted, but I have a problem and I need everyone's help. Our ferret population has now increased to 8! Imagine, only back in August, we didn't know the happiness of being owned by all these cuteys. One of them is a foster, but I don't think it will be long before he becomes ours permanently if hubby has anything to say about it. My problem is with one of our adoptees. She and her cagemate came to us from a young girl who had gotten pregnant and couldn't keep them because she was moving into no pet housing. Her aunt saw my husband out with one of our babies and said her niece needed to get rid of hers, next thing I know we have two more! Anyway, the boy, Sicard, is doing pretty well, but Caitrin who just turned 4 this month is not fairing as well. She constantly wants to be held, which is fine with us, but she won't eat. I can give her duck soup with a syringe. From time to time she can be convinced to eat it out of the bowl if hubby feeds her. We have mixed in our dry food with the duck soup and she has eaten that once. She was eating a poor quality cat food before and I refuse to go back to feeding her that just so she will eat. I have tried putting ferretone on the food, she licks off the ferretone and eats a couple pieces. I weighed her yesterday and she was only 1.2 pounds. Her little tummy is just hollow. She went to town with us yesterday and when we went through the drive thru, she went nuts. Evidently she ate a lot of fast food. How can I get her to eat? I think that part of the problem is her age. She was with her previous owner since she was a kit and now she is in a strange place with all these other fuzzies. She has no problem getting along with anyone, except our alpha who doesn't get along with anyone new who invades his space. If anyone has had a similar problem please write. She has been in our home for almost 3 weeks and frankly, I am starting to get scared for her. Thanks for your help and happy fuzzy holidays!
