Any thoughts? Ferrets get/lose their winter fur based on the photoperiod, i.e. the length of daylight to which they are exposed, not temperature. Compared to northern states, our days are a bit longer down here in the winter. For example, on the shortest day of the year sunset is around 5:30 p.m. I couldn't say whether or not these longer days were enough to trigger a shed in your ferrets.
