Please take a moment and grieve with us for Foxy, a lady who we thought was doing so well. She came into the shelter in heat, because her owner didn't have the money to fix her. She was a year old, and had been in heat for "a while", long enough to have lost most of the hair on her tail and down her sides. We took her to the vet and got her hormone shots, and she started eating good food. She grew her hair back and loved to dance - she had a beautiful face. She was a sweet lady who loved to sleep in her sleeping bag. Saturday, a couple fell in love with her, so today she went to the vet to be spayed. She came through the surgery fine, and then later they went to check on her and she was not breathing and her heart had stopped. She had died in the 15 minutes inbetween someone checking on her. She was going to go home on Wednesday, and now our hearts are broken instead. A piece of us goes out with every ferret adopted to a new home, but this little girl was very special.
