I have a Midwest 3 story ferrety fuzzies LOVE it. They have a hammock, a hanging tube (the soft kind) some toys and the usual litter box, food dish and wather bottle. The problem we seem to keep having is that both my babies sleep on the 3rd level and have a nasty tendency to roll over and fall off while they are sleeping. They usually land (I have put a bunch of towels and shirts for their soft landing) yawn and go back to sleep. No one has been hurt, but I am worried that if this keeps happening, odds are there is going to be an injury eventually. Does anyone know where I can purchase additional "shelves" for this Midwest monster or any other suggestions on how I can keep 'em from falling? Also, my Little Bean loves to dig in her food dish and litter box, I have read that some folks provide their fuzzies with a box of sand for them to dig in while they're out of their cage. Does this alleviate the urge to dig inside? For those of you that have Midwest cages, you know that they snap into a plastic base (no removeable pan) and we are having a problem with the food and litter pellets getting in the sides (where the cage snaps in) and it is very difficult to keep clean. Has anyone devised a way to keep junk from getting down there? Living in New York City, although I haven't had any previous problems, I am worried about bugs being attracted to the food caught in the side of the cage. Thanks in advance for your help! Leslie and the 2 fuzzbutts Bean - "but mommy, i wanna see this China you keep talking about" Daggett - *yawn* "why are you looking at me like that? wait...how'd I get down here?" P.S. Deos anyone know if there are any ferret groups or shelters that need help in New York City or Brooklyn? [Posted in FML issue 2419]
