Hello you all ferret lovers! Currently my partner and I recently got our first ferrets, Soda-Pop and Mocha. Soda is a happy-go-round albino male around 4 months old and Mocha is a slightly younger prissy striped DEW who is also deaf. I find this fact (deaf) really fantastic because I am Deaf myself, we didn't know that Mocha was deaf when we got her. As expected, we got hit by ferret math and would like to open our home to one or two more younger ferrets who love other ferrets. Ours are spoiled rottened, lots of playtime and attention are given to them. I did my homework and got as much information about them as I could get and even had all the health problems/care info printed out so I have them on hand in case something goes wrong (god forbid) with the carpet-sharks! The only thing we have some trouble is getting Mocha to relieve herself *IN* the litter box in the kitchen. I just put some sheets in the cage so it would smell of them when I use them to hopefully guide her where she can go. Other than that, they are just adorable! The shelters around here and in Salt Lake do not have any ferrets and they are not that common in the shelters, which is great of course. But I noticed that in the east, it seems that the shelters there are always full. I think that they should come out west where it might be easier to have them adopted by folks who want to care for them (like us, heh). If anyone reading this have a ferret or a pair that you would like to see to a good home, please contact me! I promise that they will never find any better parents! Any color is fine as long as they are healthy (I don't want to put mine in jeopardy) and like to be with other ferrets. [Posted in FML issue 2434]
