Follow the sites below to learn more about the vaccine protocol changes - The Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (CSUVTH) has published its recommendations on small animal vaccination on its web site. The new protocol is dubbed "Program 1701" because a recent survey found 1,700 different vaccination recommendations for dogs and cats from veterinarians across the United States. CSUVTH justifies its change from annual vaccinations because of its concern about the association of autoimmune hemolytic anemia with vaccination in dogs and vaccine-associated sarcomas in cats. The page includes a suggested reading list that is an overview of the current literature surrounding the vaccination debate. http://www.cvmbs.colostate.edu/vth/savp2.html See also the news about the latest research awards into vaccine-associated sarcomas from the Vaccine-Associated Feline Sarcoma Task Force at: http://www.avma.org/vafstf/ Hugs to all. tle [Posted in FML issue 2426]
