Hi Everyone I just wanted to let everyone know that our Sammy went to Rainbow Bridge today. He will be missed very much. We got Sammy as a foster child but from day one he was our little baby. Sammy loved to play with his ball and his teddy bear. Him and I use to sit on the floor for hours playing and he would follow me around like a puppy. This morning when we got up Sammy wasn't able to go potty. So I called my vet and I took him straight down to him. Sammy has had adrenal before and the surgery and a year later got it back in the other gland. He was also on predisone everyday and had to up it to almost 1 cc a day. I had a feeling about 2 weeks ago he was getting worse because of the look in his eyes. But I was hoping I was wrong. Well the vet drained his bladder and he got weaker after that. The vet called EVERY vet he could think of that might have a answer to our question of what should we do now? Well he called the University of Tenn. and spoke with the vet there and from what she had seen in younger ferrets it wasn't good after they stop peeing. I promised Sammy from day one I would never let him hurt or be in any pain. He was crying everytime he even tried to pee. and falling over trying to walk. Sammy was 7 years old The vet from U of Tenn said most of the ones they have seen were allot younger. 7 is old for a ferret with all these problems. Sorry to go on and on but wanted to let everyone know. We took Sammy and put him in his sleep box put his teddy bear and his blanket and the kids put their pictures in there and we placed him out on our property we just bought so he will be with us and we got flowers for his grave. and when we plant trees we will plant one for Sammy. Sammy is still very deep in our hearts he always will be he was my little boy...
