I have only been on the list for a couple of months, and haven't posted much, but I have a question about some new fuzzies that recently adopted me. I have a new BEW that has the normal 2 tattoos in her right ear, but she also has one on her left foot in between two toes. Her cage mate is a black roan mitt or medium silver I think and he also has the two tattoos in his ear and one on his left foot. They both came from a couple that had just moved here from NC, but I don't know if they got them from a pet store or not. The third new baby ( when ferret math strikes, it don't play around!!) is a sable with no tattoos at all. My question is why the toe tattoos? I know the two in the ear are to show they have been spayed/neutered and descented, but I have never heard about tattoos on the feet before. Also, I am wondering about the fert who is not tattooed. I was told by his previous owner that he was purchased at a local pet store here in IN and that she had been told he came from a breeder in FL. That doesn't seem right to me since most private breeders I have heard about won't ship their kits so far to be sold at a pet store, but I don't really know much about it. Anyone have any idea if there is a breeder down there that would sell to pet stores this far north? Also, he was brought in to have vaccinations at 7 weeks of age and the owner had had him for a few days at least. I know MF ships kits that young but do any other companies or breeders? I was also told that he was purchased neutered and descented..... just no little blue dots. In the end, it doesn't really matter where they came from. Just curious... Thanks in advance for any help!
