While gazing to the sky out yonder We'll sit 'n' stare, think or ponder Which sock shall we devour today? Which tunnel will we use for play? While our eyes gaze into space Our minds will drift, our hearts will race We'll think of raisins gliding by Of ferretone falling from the sky Until our family returns from 'work' (The place where toys they seem to shirk) We'll sit and gaze and sleep and dream And think of trouble - as a team! For now we wait, and rest a while Our bodies all in one big pile When cages open, all at once We'll bounce for joy and play and dance Ferrets have TWO jobs you see One through the day to dream with glee One through the night to play and pounce And NEVER EVER give an ounce! A ferrets job is one of toys Spread love and life and many joys Teach others how to live and play Teach them patience - more each day Sam [Posted in FML issue 2383]
