A friend asked me to post this for her in the hopes that someone could help her. She is a former FMLer but is not currently on the list. She recently got a Path Valley kit (about 2-3 weeks ago). Two kits were purchased at the same time and, since her son fell in love with this one, the neighbor gave her to him. She appears to be pretty sickly. Below are her comments to me. BTW, this is not their first ferret, they have 3 others. She is keeping the kit separated from the others so she won't learn their bad habits and so her son can bond with her. He is afraid of the others. She may have ECE...we are now trying to establish that...green poop alternating with red poop, almost always runny from day one. Now her little friend next door is vomiting. She looks really healthy and fat, but who knows. I called Path Valley and told them about the seedy runny green poop, and they said " you can't feed ferrets seeds". I thought that Path Valley was a knowledgeable company, but I don't think so. Please post this to the list if you want....I don't have a clue and neither does my Vet. I feed Totally Ferret as you know...and Path Valley said that it wasn't an appropriate food??????? Aren't they written up in Modern Ferret? Does anyone have any ideas? I've suggested softening her food but don't know what else to tell her. If anyone has any suggestions, please email me directly and I'll forward your responses to her. Thank you from the bottom of our little hearts. Katharine [Posted in FML issue 2369]
