Some of you FMLERS may recall Yang's little adventure in the ceiling for 36 hours... Well, we sealed up the hole (or so we thought) with about 5 layers of duct tape until we could get some plaster, etc. Well, yesterday morning, I was waking up, had already kicked my husband out of bed, and dreading getting up myself. Just for reference, the door to our bedroom stays open at night so the cats can come in and out. Anyway, on his way towards the bathroom, he closed our bedroom door. Now I was laying there thinking to myself how I was gonna have to get up in a minute to open the door, since the cats were in the room and bound to complain at their lack of freedom in a minute, when all of a sudden I heard a "scream" from an animal. I look over the edge of the bed and I saw a little ferret at the door, blow past to the other side of the room. Now here I am, half awake, and this is just barely registering at first. Then I sit straight up, suddenly realizing that it was Yang, and he had somehow gotten out of his room. I began to panic.... called my husband (who had his hearing aid off and couldn't have heard a freight train if it was coming through) and proceeded to chase Yang around the room. Finally, my hubby came back in and found me half under the bed looking for a ferret! We worked together and caught him, both wondering how on earth he had gotten out. We were wondering where Yin might be if Yang was out. We took Yang back to the ferret room, and sure enough Yin was sleeping comfortably at the bottom of his cage. That began the search for the escape route. Mike said to me "check the hole" and sure enough, there was a hole torn in the tape just big enough for one ferret! We found that rather than getting in the ceiling this time, he had gone straight through the hole to the other side where the pipe comes out, in the BATHROOM, and somehow made his way into the bedroom where Mommy and Daddy were! Now we have the hole taped over even more, cardboard over that, and a few THICK boards nailed over the hole! That place never to be accessable again! Well, after this adventure, we got the hint that they were tired of their room and wanted out, so we ferret proofed the rest of the house, and they are now allowed the run of it when we are home! I must admit they are quite happy about it! But that is a whole 'nother story! Song & her two fuzzbuts! Yin (nonononononooo, don't go there, we'll get in trouble) & Yang (ooooooo, where does this go?)
