Hello folks. I didn't receive any responses about my query on Sadie so I am writing to try again. Sadie is about 4 yr. old and is spayed. She has never been sick for the 2 plus years that we have had her and now she is barfing about every 3 days or so. She is eating (IAMS kitten), drinking, pooping, and playing as usual but over the last 2 or 3 weeks she has barfed 4 or so times. Maybe I should add that I feel that she pees and poops more than any of them, and has since the day we got her. I clean her pan 2 times a day while I clean the others only once a day, and her poopie smell whereas everyone else's doesn't. By the way, all ferrets do get at least 4 hours of out time per day. I did rule out a blockage for various reasons but one day I found a fairly large fur ball on the floor in their room. It is difficult to say who did it with 9 ferrets but because of Sadies record these few weeks, I surmised that she did it. This fur ball was odd because all the other barf was just soaked food but this was just a ball of fur (actually, it was 2 joined together) with nothing mixed in with it. I have given her (as well as the rest of the gang) petromalt a few times now but that hasn't seemed to help. Could it still be a hairball or could she be getting ulcers. I guess I am paranoid about ulcers after what I went through with Snoopy and I just don't want the same end for Sadie. Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks a million. Take care. Tryntje Miller.
