Our first ferret, Sid, lived to be 7.5 years and up until the last 3 or 4
days of his life, was healthy as could be.  He never had adrenal problems,
insulinoma, or any of those other things you hear so much about.  Sid was a
Marshall Farms ferret.
 
That was 1986 and we knew nothing and Sid was fed what I now know to be the
worst food possible and never had any vaccinations (until the last couple
years of his life).  He got whatever treats he wanted in any quantity he
wanted.  I guess you could say he lived a healthy life in spite of us.
 
There was an instance where he had to have surgery to have two small rubber
disks removed from his stomach, but one couldn't really call that a health
problem.
