>Does anyone have any stories about owning a ferret that was healthy 80% of >the time? I'd love to hear them. Yes! Since 1979, I've had 6 fuzzbutts. Two of them got adopted out. Two of them, Pokey and Gidget, died of old age (7-8 years old). Aside from Pokey suffering a broken shoulder in an unfortunate play accident (he recovered totally), there were no unexpected vet visits. In their younger years, Pokey and Gidget were fed Meow Mix(!), since I had a more limited knowledge then, and there was not as much good information available on ferrets. I've had my current kids, Flower & Chester, for a year and a half now. They're both adopted MF babies, two years old each, and I've had absolutely no health problems with them. Long live Flower, Queen of the Ferrets!
