Regarding Amy's post about ferrets in wooden crates on US Airways:
 
I have flown US Airways with ferrets, they were in regular Kennel Cab style
carriers, and were well cared for in transit.  Call back and get someone on
the line who has a clue.  The guy you spoke with obviously did not.
