Hi, I have a 1year old female (Bandit) and last Thursday I got a six week
old male kit (Smokey). Thursday night Smokey just cried and whined, I
thought that was due to him being taken away from his mommy earlier that
day. Well, it hasn't gone away and only gotten worse. All he does is cry
and whine and when I let him out of his cage ( He is in a seperate cage from
the other one) he runs in circles screeching. Smokey will charge to Bandit
and try to find her nipple but Bandit justs bites him. I have tried just
letting him out when Bandit is caged but all he does is do ccircles at high
speed and cries, if I come near him he latches on to my finger or hand and
does not let go. He appears to be eating and drinking okay but I am afraid
that maybe he was too young to be taken from his mother or that there is
something seriously wrong. If anyone has any sugestions or comments, please
send me an e-mail right away. I talked to my vet (who is not very familiar
with ferrets) and he said this is normal but I never noticed this kind of
behavior when Bandit was that small!! They are from Marshall Farms, if
that helps. Please help, I feel terrible when he cries and whines, it gets
louder when he hears us talking or sees us walking by his cage!!! Thanks
for your help!!
