An Open letter: Hopefully this ferret forum may be expanded to include the mustelid Mephitis, the American skunk and Ictonyx, the African zorilla (skunk). Ferrets NorthWest may be expanding its sheltering and breeding operations to include both forms of pet skunks. We currently are housing a female fur-farm silver-grey mink and expect to again take in pet skunks for readoption, as we have in the past. If sufficient interest is shown, once the word gets out, we will be breeding both the American and African skunks as house pets for certified owners. Skunks and ferrets cohabit well, and the sight of walking a brace of skunk and ferret always stops traffic. The skunk, compared to the ferret, is delightfully luxurious and one could not be more politically correct in social diversification than keeping the bicolored white and black skunk! If anyone is interested in obtaining a pet skunk, African or American, please let us know as soon as possible. Fixed and -$0.01 (got that figured out?) pet skunks 3 months and older will be available from our shelter at an estimated price of $250.00 plus taxes plus cost of shipping. Satisfactory completion of a written examination following a course of study on the skunk is mandatory at an additional cost of $50.00 for course materials and examination booklet. Hopefully this medium will provide the one medium for skunk lovers as well as ferret lovers. Thanks for your interest. [Moderator's note: No, both skunks and ferrets should have their own forum(s) -- this one is for ferrets only. I don't know of one specifically for skunks -- maybe Ed would like to host one?
