I dont understand what a sensitivity to high pitched sounds has to do with domestication. As far as that goes, all "domesticated" animals still have some degree of self preservation/fighting instinct, prey drive (carnivors) including humans. We are still domesticated. That some ferrets seem really bothered by high pitch sounds may be a result of the fact that they're carnivores or not. It could be it just really hurts their ears. I think it was a good idea to rehome the noise sensitive ferret (although it may have gotten used to the noise its best not to take chances). However I don't think it invalidates Bob's theories at all. Mary [Posted in FML issue 2254]
