Hi, Helen & Annie here. Annie went to to vets today and had another x-ray from the side view, the one she had done last week was a flat view down on her tummy, a urine test and a blood test. Nothing showed up on the x-ray, the blood showed that she is not a nemic or diabetic or low blood sugar, nothing. Her urine showed that she still has blood in the urine, she is still on Amoxicillin. The next step is ultra sound or exploritory surgery. She is doing something else that the vet can't figure out why and has even consulted with other vets about. Has anyone ever had a ferret that drinks its own urine? Annie started this about 3 months ago. She has plenty of water in the cage, on the kitchen floor, but still finds a cornor on the tile and goes and drinks it. We have no explaination for this but it must mean something. Well, thats where we stand with Annie. My vet also has a problem. She has run out of Galaxy-D vaccine. She tells me that the company that manufactured it "Scharing Plough" stopped production. She doesn't want to give the other vaccine but will have no alternative for distemper when her next patient needs the shot. My vet said she would call the company and talk to them. I was wondering what could be done or if anyone else is on this mission already that I could find out what I could do to help. Galaxy-D is the only distemper vaccine that has been given to my ferrets and I would like to continue that way if we can. Love to all the well and sick fuzzies out there my thoughts and prayers are with them all. Until next time. Helen & Annie [Posted in FML issue 2251]
