On my site, actually Dinky's page, there are some ferret faq with a pop quiz at the end. All of the answers to the questions in the pop quiz can be found in the faq. Most of you guys would find it quite basic and its intended purpose is for information/education to new ferret owners or those thinking about buying a ferret. Well, I received an email response to the pop quiz yesterday and the person only got half of the 16 questions correct. Apparently they didn't read the faq first. The worst response was that the ferret is most closely related to a rat (these are multiple choice questions). I certainly hope this person doesn't own a ferret and will read the faq (anywhere) before getting one. BTW, I redecorated Dinky's cage. Her litterbox was in the right rear corner. I originally put it there because it would be back out of the way of everything else. Because her cage is two-levelled, this made it hard to do a daily cleaning/scooping of her box. I couldn't get the leverage I needed with the pooper scooper because of the level above it so I always just took it out. I thought about moving it before, but thought that would cause problems for her and me with poop misses. Well, I couldn't take it anymore. I took everything out of her cage. The litterbox is in the left front corner now. Outside Water bottle, mini-trough (for her Ferretone), and food dish are all on the right side, and I switched positions of her hammock and cubby canoe (her day and night beds). Her tubing is still on the second level. After putting her back in her cage she looked rather confused. She climbed up to the second level and started pulling on the hammock chains. I I swear to God she was trying to put them back where they belong. She hates disorganization and change. Since that apparently wasn't doing her any good she started digging at her litterbox as if she were trying to move that. Exasperated, she finally crawled in her hammock and is sleeping peacefully. I can't wait to see her when she wakes up and realizes she's not where she's suppose to be. Ferret hugs & kisses, Toni Dinky(huh...where am I?) [Posted in FML issue 2231]
