John and Diane Rogers BFC posting of State enforcement of licensing ferrets as a follow-up to low-cost vaccination clinics ... WOW! Big Brother is coming after us it appears. On first glance, it seems like the first step down that slippery slope to ferret confiscation. Pay up and license, or you are a defacto criminal! If caught, then fine, jail time, and ferret confiscation. Is this the real scenario? Ferret breeders with 6 or more ferrets means initially a minimum $125.00 annual license fee ($25.00/ferret for the first 5 ferrets) and the requirement to purchase a hobby license (cost ?). Wonder what they're going to do with all this money? Hire State-funded Gestapo agents to go after the non-compliers? Seems to me that the State of Maryland PG Cnty is trying to tell us something: Ferrets are not really welcome in this State??? Here is a good example of what could happen if citizens voluntarily registered their guns. First registration, then licensing, and finally confiscation. Dominus vobiscum. [L.] The Lord be with you.
