I recall seeing recent discussion on ferrets and immunosupressed humans. I'm preparing to undergo bone marrow transplant (BMT), which causes severe immunosupression. I was dreadfully afraid I would be required to give up my ferrets until I've fully recovered, which could take months. My vet tested them for giardia and campylobacter, and did CBCs to check their white cell counts. Ferrets don't carry toxoplasmosis, so that isn't an issue. Their tests all came back clean. I'll be allowed to have my ferrets back as soon as I get home from the hospital, as long as my husband keeps them clean. Yea! I'm sure my recovery will be much more pleasant with my darling little cherubs scurrying about. :) Cheers, Lynn Burroughs Magill (a.k.a.
