Hi folks, we have a 3.5 years old ferret diagnosed with lymphosarcoma. We received the pathology results today. It appears that it is still confined to the lymphatic system. Both his X-rays and bloodwork results are perfectly normal. Besides lymphnode enlargements he is clinically normal. We need to decide whether or not to proceed with chemotherapy ASAP. Several years ago we had a juvenile case of lymphosarcoma and decided to use Jeglum protocol. Needless to say, given it was a juvenile case, we failed miserably. We are aware of the information in the medical FAQ. Still, it is only marginally helpful in making this decision. Thus, we would like to ask anyone who has used chemotherapy to treat ADULT lymphosarcoma in ferrets to give us some information that would help us to decide. In particular, we would like to learn how successful it was and which protocols appeared to be most effective. If anyone could refer us to a vet who have some success in this matter it would be great as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please, respond by e-mail as it is of little interest to FML at large. We have to give our vet an answer by Monday.
