Hello Everyone, My ferret Pepper was just diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions about alternative treatment for this condition. I have him on Coenzyme Q10 along with his regular meds. I'm also looking at homeopathic medicines that would help. He's had the chest X-Ray, ultrasound and he's on lasix and enocard, which are helping. Vet says both ventricles are dialated. I've read where this is an inherited disease, but I'm wondering if there are any other suspected causes. I know a lack of taurine and carnitine are suspected in cases of cardiomyopathy in cats and dogs, I wonder if there is a connection with ferrets also? So far he's doing better. Looks as beautiful as ever! He's a real sweetheart! If anyone has any input to offer, I'd appreciate it. My address is, [log in to unmask] Thanks!
