Sammy went in for adrenal surgery on December 29th. While in surgery the vet removed what he thought was the right adrenal gland. He also removed 7 tumors that he found in the fatty layer that surrounds the abdomen area. He told me the technical name for this area but I have forgotten what it was. He send it all of to the pathology lab and the report came back that all of the tumors were benign. The bad news was that the adrenal gland that he thought he took out ended up being a thyroid gland. He apologized for not getting the adrenal gland and I told him that he owes Sammy the apology and not me. Four days after the first surgery Sammy went back in for surgery again. The vet took out the left adrenal gland because it was very enlarged. He also sent it off to the pathology lab to make sure that he took out the adrenal. The vet did not charge me for the second surgery because of his mistake. Sammy is doing fairly well. Sammy was back eating his regular food around 48 hours after the first surgery. He is not doing as well this time. He is drinking a lot of Pedialite and urinating fine but he refuses to eat any solid food. I have been giving him some Ferretvite to make sure that he is getting some vitamins. He does not like duck soup. His incision has stopped draining. He sleeps a lot but when he is awake he seems to be fairly alert. How long after surgery should Sammy be back eating his regular food (which is TF)? My computer crashed and I have lost the names of those people that I was writing. Could everyone that I have been talking with please send me your E-MAIL address again? Interestingly enough, I still have the addresses of those people that I have had disagreements with in the past. Go figure. I am especially interested in hearing from the great people in Idaho that I have sent E-MAIL to. Also, if you are a expert on Microsoft's Outlook Express I would appreciate your help on solving a problem that I have. Thanks, Jason Poole Sammy and Doris - The lights of my life!
