Please allow me to clarify regarding Erika Matulich's post of yesterday. I
did not state in my original post that ultrasound testing was "useless". I
believe my observation stated that ultrasound MAY be ineffective. Please
feel free to check your back issues for the exact content.

Please also note that the info I recieved was from my vet. He doesn't
preform ultrasounds himself. The info he passed to me was obtained from a
veterinary seminar which he attended. The seminar was regarding ultrasound
and the speakers were specialists in that field. I am in no way saying not
to do ultrasound testing if that is what your vet suggests or if it makes
you more comfortable. My concern lies with the potential lost time in a
severe illness case. I have found that generally everyone who responded to
my post (including DVMs) agreed with the seminars speakers. NOTE: I did
recieve several responses stating that ultrasound IS very accurate for use
in diagnosing cardiac problems in ferrets. PLEASE realise that I AM NOT a
vet. I'm just trying to pass on information that I hope will be usefull to
people and thier little ones. I would never consider posting anything
medical that didn't come to me directly from a vet. I am still recieving
responses regarding this issue and maybe will post with a general count of
"yeas" and "neys" if people are interested.
