My girls were diggers when they were little.  They seem to have out grown
this behavior though.
 
I tried the plastic carpet runners as a deterent and they wound up using it
as a back scratcher.  It is soo funny to see this fuzzy little critter
rubbing back and forth on the little spikes that hold the runner secure on
carpet.
