>stool samples they kindly provided her ;-> and says that they have Giardia. >We have some medication to take care of this (at least temporarily, Dr. >Bishop says that since we take them outdoors regularly it will likely return >at some point) My vet was recently fooled into diagnosing some normal parasites in my ferrets poop as giardia, and we began testing all of my ferrets, as I understand this can be a nasty problem to eliminate. They all showed the same thing...what she thought was giardia. We sent a sample to the lab (after she first "verified" that the sample we sent contained giardia). The lab report came back saying that it was *not* giardia, so you may want to have Dr Bishop send a sample to the lab to verify what she saw. (By the way, Dr. Bishop is an *excellent* ferret vet! But perhaps she too could be fooled?!) Sandi Best Little Rabbit, Rodent & Ferret House Seattle, WA [Posted in FML issue 2165]
