Actually, the christian holiday came from an ancient naturalist view-when the days were shortest and all vegetation laid fallow, the HOPE of a new spring rennaissance dwelt in everyone's heart. To encourage this HOPE, our ancestors brought in the tree that remained green in winter, bedecked it with candles, and had a wild feast-all to call the sun back from vacation! It has never failed!
