It turns out that the vet I have been taking my pets to for years has three doctors that are specifically ferret doctors. When I was speaking to the receptionist about the life of a ferret she said that ferrets live about 5 years!! Can you beleive that?!?! 5 years? I though for my whole life that they lived for at least 12 years. She told me that all her ferrets and the ferrets of the doctors have only lived to be around 5 and that they were all MF ferrets. I am scared for my little Sosha. I want him to live a long and happy life. I will speak to the doctor as the receptionist isn't a doctor and was probably mistaken. Soshas first doctors visit is Tuesday the 23rd. I can't wait to ask a TON of questions. Does anyone know how long MF ferrets usually live to be? I won't be able to sleep well with it in my head that my little darling may only be with me for about 4 more years. Who will wake me up at 4am nipping my toes? Who will spill food and water all over the floor for me to clean up? Who will give me all those sweet little "I'm sorry for bein' bad" kisses? I know I shouldn't jump the the gun on this but the way she spoke as if it were just fact that they live for 5 years scares me terribly! Please someone respond and tell me otherwise??
