Hi everybody and Happy Turkey Day, Well, it appears one of me ferts has a cold. My husband stated our Puglsy was breathing funny while I was at work. He's eating and drinkind plenty of water and still active. Of course, I got home as soon as possible and was very worried. Well, as soon as I went to the cage (we seperated him from the others for now) ACHOO and his little nose looked alittle runny and stuffed up. Definitely looks like a cold to me BUT I've never had a ferret with a cold(first winter) so I went ahead and made an appointment with the Vet. The vet appointment is MONDAY. The only other day they had was early Friday and I have to be at work and I'm the skeleton crew so I can't take off. Gee, the vet couldn't even give me suggestions til then, "Sorry we have to see him" I wish I got the other receptionist. She has lots of ferrets and is very friendly. Anyway, I'm a very worried mom and I hope all it is is a cold. But in the meantime, Monday is a long way, Does anybody have any suggestions for a cold? How long does a cold usually last? (this morning he popped right out of bed and gave me the "let me out look" with no stuffy nose, though it was considerably dry air today. My nose was dried up.) I thought maybe he sounded like he was breathing funny because his nose was stuffed up and was breathing funny, Keep in mind I did not hear it. Regardless, I'm not taking any chances, but of course I have to wait til Monday! Unless his mood changes, stops eating, etc then I'll call the emergency. I would greatly appreciate any response. Thank you..... Worried Mom.....Aimee Pugsly - Achoo lets hit mommy with some snots Ricky - Let me out so I can sleep in my favorite spot.
