This past Tuesday 14 October, Dr. (Maj-USA) Bruce Williams, DVM, Diplomate ACVP Noted ferret owner, Veterinarian, Pathologist and FML contributor addressed about 70 members of the Bexar County Veterinarian Medical Association (BCVMA) and guest veterinarians, veterinary assistants, shelter operators and State Health Department officials. This event was co-sponsored by the BCVMA and SAFE (San Antonio area Ferret Enthusiasts). From the positive responses that we have recieved over the last three days, this was one of the best Continuing Education (CE) seminars ever held in San Antonio. If any of you ever have the opportunity to hear Dr. Williams speak on ferrets medicine, go, you are in for a treat. On a personal note; It was a special reward to have all three Houston shelters and the Ferret lovers club of Texas, Dallas/Ft. Worth Chapter represented at this event. We Texan ferret lovers, shelter moms and dads finally got to meet and put a face with the names and voices we've come to know over the last few years. This was a four hour drive each way after a full day of work and back to work Wednesday morning. That is dedication folks! God bless you all. A special Thanks to Dr.Teresa Shook, DVM, CE Chairperson; Mr. Mickey Debner Exec.Sect. and the Officers of the BCVMA and the Officers of SAFE for making this event possiable. A grateful "Thank You" to Dr. Bruce Williams for taking time from an exhausting schedule, to fly to Texas to help our vets learn abou ferret care. SAFE is a chapter of the American Ferret Association, Inc. (AFA) dedicated to the health, safety and welfare of all ferrets. PROVIDE - PROMOTE - PROTECT [Posted in FML issue 2099]
