Shalom Lynn:
The glucose levels for a ferret after a 4-6 hour fast + 85-150 (non fasting
up to 207. This is via a blood test. I have no idea if a urine test would
come out the same. Any vets out there know???

Feed a good quality of kitten food (better yet ferret food) with a minimum
of 30% protein. It is said that ferrets over 4 can use a good quality cat
food, but I don't know.... ( Any comments on this, guys???)

As for weight loss, maybe give him a few veggies that he likes (mine like
cucumbers and red sweet peppers) and cut down on the ferret food, but at
that age, be careful. I would consider talking to a good ferret vet before
taking any action. There are so many things that can cause problems. Self
diagnosis and advice from people long distance can be fatal to your ferret.
So, please don't take chances with your fuzzy's life!

Hope this helps.
