Hi all! Been reading about an upcoming auction and wondered..how do you bid on things. is it an email, or do you post here?..was wondering, saw some of the things up for bid last time and would have liked to bid but didn't know how. [Moderator's note: Bidding is via e-mail... instructions will be given when the "rules" are posted. BIG] to the perosn with the injured ferret: Definately get your ferret to the Vets. A long time ago when I had my other ferrets, Boo Boo slipped out of a collar...and fell quite a distance to the ground. { I wasn't a very good ferret mom, since at the time ferrets were a enw pet and there wasn't much info on them..} I had an apt with a balcony, with a sliding glass door..well {don't hate me} I wanted Boo Boo to enjoy the fresh air and I tied her to something in my kitchen with her leashm with enough room to just go out side the glass door to the balcony, so she wouldn't go near the edge..I was watching her but she rolled around slipped out of her collar, and right off the balcony! It was a good 20 ft. drop! I raced down stairs, to find her limping on the ground. I watched her that night, figuring that she may have just sprained her ankle{foot}, her nails ans pads were normal color and she appeared in no pain. the next day she was still limping and I took her to the vets, they x rayed her and found that she had a multiple fracture. She had a splint put on..that I was told she would probably chew off, well she didn't touch it..dragged it around..and played normally, splint came off and she was good as new! So as you see they can be very tolerant to pain. To the flea question: if you don't want to spring for Advantage or Frontline, using only a drop or two per fert, you can buy a good quality emollient flea shampoo at you vets, Ecto-Soothe is just one. hopes this helps Melanie> alot older and hopefully a little smarter Sniffer> [Posted in FML issue 2047]
