Firstly, thanks to all who replied to my EMail. My server has been down for the past few days and has been unable to send messages, hence the long period of time before the reply. Secondly, the pathologists PM findings: 1/ Lung congestion. 2/ Amount of puss around the pharynx. 3/ Enlarged Spleen. The Pathologist suspects that the puss around the pharynx could have been incidental. The spleen was noticeably enlarged but this may not be pathological. Everything else, except the lungs, was non pathological. They are running histopath on everything and the results should be through within the next 3 days. I'll keep you posted. Other things of note: Two ferrets have died so far. One was the shelter vasectomised hob (the first to die) the other was a sterling silver hob (entire) that had become a shelter permanent. Both were caged seperatly, lived outdoors and had absolutely no access to poisons. AS yet we have had no other deaths. Some other ferrets have cld/flu like symptoms but have had them for some time. One of the ferrets to die had a chronic cold/flu (the first one) and was being treated with Baytril. The other was clinically normal last seen before death. This thing is still a puzzle. I am awaiting the histo findings with great anticipation and we have quaranteened the shelter for the time being. Any more ideas, comments or suggestions.
