Shelley -- When I adopted a 4-5 yo female, Esme', she had symptoms much like those you describe. Occasional staring and a weak hind end sounded like insulinoma to me, so I had a fasting blood glucose done. The results were normal. Less than a year later, she began to have serious fits of staring and was falling right over. This time her tests indicated insulinoma, and one the size of a BB was removed the next day. So even if your little guy tests normal, please keep an eye on him and get another test run at a later date. Esme's entire personality changed after her surgery, and she is now a spritely little minx who bounces on the boys regardless of their youth and size. Blessings Judith White [Posted in FML issue 2000]
