[Moderator's note: Note this post was written a couple of days ago. BIG] Arrgghh! I'm here and boy do I have a load of work. A few comments on the last couple of posts: Melissa: I am NOT cute. Great looking maybe....and I NEVER lecture, I simply inform in a positive and straightforward way. I can't help it if I loom over people while I talk and make them take exams later. But I did enjoy meeting you and thought your ferrets are lucky to have such a nice carecaker. Jean: She didn't tell people I was lucky enough to be pressed into service checking out the health and sex status of the little devil. Jean said to te mink I was Bob, and the mink promptly squirted in my face. Oh well; afterwards, when I lectured to my friend Ed and stank of mink, you could honestly say I was a *musty-tell-Ed."* Bob Jacobs is a great guy, but I'm sure you all know that already. I have to say that the road fate has given him to follow (regarding Kodo) is a tough one, and unless you are prepared to tread it yourself, then keep the Kodo issue alive. Keeping Kool: I had a problem last summer when my air conditioner died during a Missouri heat wave, and house temperatures went over 100F. I opened the refrigerator and piled the ferts inside (with the door locked open). yeah, I took the other stuff out, and I sterilized it later. They spent two days in the appliance, and all did well. Other ways to helping the ferts beat the heat are cool baths, misting showers, and ice (in bottles or ziplocks). Oh yeah, make sure you write, fax and call for the CaCa people. When CaCa falls, the rabies stuff will follow. Our goals should be "USA Ferret Friendly by 2001." We can do it if we put our money where our mouths are and we all work hard. Just remember, these laws are like big round boulders on a hillside and we are like entropy. We will win, and the rocks will roll. (Gosh, its bad, isn't it?) Bob C on the road sans ferts.
