I too, was disappointed with the 'valuable information' in the MF booklet they showed me. They confirmed that is all they hand out. I think someone posted here recently that MF was going to do a more informative one than the one they currently hand out. I sure hope they do this, it would be a big benefit to the ferrets and owners alike. In all fairness though, I don't think other animals are generally sold with health/care instructions. Generally it's up to the buyer to buy a book (or whatever). The aforementioned pet store does carry several books on ferrets. Awhile back, I think on the ferret forum, (not here), someone (Christine? was it you?) had suggested that pet stores in need of guidance be 'adopted' by some of us. We could act as mentors for them. I was thinking of providing copies of the ferret FAQ (only with Pam's permission of course), on diskettes as text files to the store at no charge to provide to owners/prospective owners. I haven't followed up with this, but when I asked one of the pet store employees about it, he thought the store owner would be receptive to the idea. -Ilena Ayala Rabies Resources for Ferret Lovers at: http://www.ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/ilena/rabies.htm [Posted in FML issue 1999]
